 Apax Gaskets started
operations in the Northern Melbourne suburb of Preston in 1949. Initially, the company
primarily produced industrial and automotive products but was also a major automotive, engineering,
and plumbing supplier. Apax has also provided support for the aircraft
industries and such automotive plants and supplied original equipment to major automotive manufacturers.
Owned and started by
Mr. Charles Weickhardt who started the company after working in the aircraft
and aeronautical engineering industries for some years. Following the success
of the Preston Plant, Apax Gaskets started a plastics branch of its firm
in 1994 in Bayswater to cater for the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Presently,
the Apax factory at Bayswater is producing injection mouldings, general homewares,
and moulded synthetic rubber seals for firms in the North and Eastern Regions
of Melbourne.
 Apax Gaskets and
Plastics constantly aims to provide the highest quality products to its customers.
We are committed
to exceeding our customer's expectations, and continue to diversify into new
areas of manufacturing.
We strive to be
a successful and profitable business through superior customer service, and
using the latest manufacturing techniques to produce the best possible product.

The major aim for Apax is to continue to produce 1st class products,
and to export these goods to the Pacific Islands,
South-East Asia and other overseas markets. This is part of the company's expansion strategy.
However, at the same time Apax will continue to service their local (Australian) clients.
Apax also aims to build a stronger administrative framework for the future. If the company
has a strong administrative base, then a platform can be set to achieve their major aim.
